House Values - Seattle Times
According to this
Seattle Times article, the hottest area in terms
of "price change" in 2003-04 was the Newport Shores
/ Kennydale neighborhood. The median price of a home
jumped to $540,000.
However, the neighborhood that has shown
the most consistent growth (over 5 years) has been Rainier
Valley in South Seattle. The median price has increased 10%
per year.
The most expensive neighborhood is West
Bellevue / Medina (no surprise) with a median price of
$862,000. This is followed by Madison Park in North Seattle
with a median price of $785,000.

According to this article, which compared home sales
from February 2004 and February 2005, the median home
price in King County jumped from $295,950 to $342,500 (a
jump of 15.7%).
In Snohomish County, the percentage
change was 12.8% (from $235,000 to $265,000) while
Pierce County enjoyed a change of 17.5% (from $186,450
to $219,000). Kitsap County had the greatest change,
with the median price rising 24.2% (from $189,175 to
$234,975). |
